“The Will To Prepare For Success
Is More Important Than
The Will For Success”

Training for goal and/or one trait is flawed and will lead to a very one dimensional athlete/human. Because the training of athletes has become so watered down with speed ladders and cone drills, the level of the athletes has decreased. The rate of injuries has increased because so many are just focused on the result rather then preparing for the result.

Why “New Athlete“?

The question in many minds is why would I come to your gym over another from across town and or closer to my home? The answer is this: I believe that New Athlete is the best gym around for preparing not just for an upcoming season or event but I will encourage you to look beyond simple goals that for the most part are easy to achieve. In other words if a person is wanting to get faster or stronger I find that this goal is very shallow and shortsighted.

The athlete will get stronger and faster just from maturing. I want athletes to set new standards regarding their goals and their vision of what they are to become both on and off the field of play. Rather than having a goal to “get faster”…why not make it your goal to be a “3 years starter” and/or set a new school record? When you start setting very specific goals, you begin to think bigger and can get your abilities to a level where you’re able to compete in college and/or beyond.

“Creation Of A Successful Athlete Happens Over Years”

Too many athletes and too many programs have short sighted goals or are ill-equipped to create programs outside of a only a few months in length. Your time in the gym alone is not enough to get you where you want to go.

Many athletes have the misconception that if they put in a few hard hours of training per week that all the results will just come flooding in and everything will be perfect. The truth is that training is just one aspect of creating an successful athlete that can produce great performances, week-in and week-out. Other vital components that go into the end product and the results that you want are things like:

  • Your sleep and water intake are incredibly important for recovery
  • How an individual thinks and sees themselves
